Irish, Mel; passed away, with his family by his side, at the Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest on Thursday, December 25th, 2014. Mel Charles Irish of Pike Lake was in his 81st year. Mel spent 30 great years with his beloved wife Ruth (Caron) Irish. Loved father of David Irish and his wife Christine Conway of Kitchener/Waterloo, Margaret Irish of Mississauga and step-father of Bonnie Gunn and her husband John of St. Jacobs, Richard Caron of Kitchener, and Randy Caron and his wife Michelle of Ottawa. Cherished grandfather of 8 beautiful grandchildren. Mel 's K-9 companion Buddy will miss his rides in the golf cart. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Cicely Irish . Mel was the Plant Superintendent at the Ford Auto Company in Oakville for 20 years, a Supervisor for several auto parts plants, and then started his own company, Leprechaun Golf Inc., until his retirement in 2000. His passion in life was golf and he enjoyed bowling at the Plus 55 Club, where he made many close friends over the years. Mel had a passion for life. We will miss his warmth, wisdom and the ways he made our lives fun! We always left his home knowing we were LOVED. He will be missed. Cremation has taken place. Private funeral arrangements entrusted to the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held in the spring/summer of 2015 at his home by the lake. Memorial donations to the Louise Marshall Hospital Capital Campaign or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at www.englandfuneralhome.com
