Gina Christine Shoemaker

SHOEMAKER, Gina Christine - Forever resting in the arms of her Heavenly Father, Gina Christine Shoemaker (née Rowley) of Mount Forest (formerly of Wellesley) passed away in the early hours of Sunday, December 10, 2023 at her home with her husband and children in her 58th year.

Forever in the heart of her husband Ben Shoemaker and their daughter Holly (Nick) of Cambridge, son Andrew (Rose) of Meaford, son Isaac (Alyssa), and granddaughter Lily all of Kitchener.

Cherished always by Gina's mom Ann Rowley of Mount Forest, brother Andy (Lisa) of Mount Forest and their daughter Hunter (Jon) and son Connor.

Lovingly remembered by Gina's mother-in-law Eleanor Shoemaker of Walkerton, brother-in-law Len of Walkerton, and sisters-in-law Tammy (Doug) of Harriston and Tracy (Sylvester) of Walkerton. Gina was predeceased by her father Jim Rowley, father-in-law Dennis, and brother-in-law Ken.

Gina is also fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside burial will occur in the spring at Douglas Hill Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Father’s Heart Healing Ministries are appreciated as an expression of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest.

Gina was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother who was the light of her family. A kind and caring friend with a gentle and whimsical spirit, she was always ready to offer a listening ear and words of encouragement. Gina was a gifted writer, creating countless stories for her children. She kept many journals and often exchanged letters with her friends. A lifelong lover of animals, Gina took great joy in her beloved dogs Winnie, Sybil, and Bill and will be fondly greeted by Diamond. Gina loved the lake, ice cream, decadent wines and cheeses, and scenic walks. A woman of strong faith, Gina is surely at peace in the loving hands of the Lord; her devoted spirit will never be extinguished from our hearts.

“Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.”

Dear Ben, Holly & Nick, A.J. & Rose, Isaac & Alyssa, and Lily; Andy & Lisa and Hunter, Jon, and Connor, and Ann, and all your extended Shoemaker, Rowley, and Greg family.
My heart breaks for you all as you grieve the loss of your beloved Gina.
😥💔
Too young. Too much to do yet.
She loved her children, she loved being a Grandma, and she loved life.
Gina and I grew up together and were BFFs for over 2 decades. Our children had so many happy times together.
Reconnecting some years later, we would meet for lunch sharing our lives, our hearts, and much laughter!
Gina was loved. Beautiful inside and out.
The Diana to my Anne.
The Piglet to my Winnie-the-Pooh.
The Sunrise to my Sunset.
As we did for over 4 decades, I will continue to whisper "Happy New Year, Gina!" on every New Year's Eve.
And I will continue to hold her memory in my heart.
Sending you all our deepest sympathy and love.
All My Love
~ Mary

Sending hugs to all the family. I hadn’t spent time with Gina for years until recently being added to her pray partners. In Paisley days i have great memories of our children playing together while we chatted about life, faith and family. Gina was an inspiration and breath of fresh air. She shared her faith openly and with passion. Thinking of you all.

I met Gina about 6 years ago living a Silent Valley , she was a beautiful , energetic lady.
She loved spending time with her mom and often going antique shopping or looking for bargains.
She became a walking friend and she will be missed by all her family and friends.
Rest in peace pretty lady and watch over from above.
