MacPHERSON, John Wayne “Jack” – Passed away unexpectedly at the Louise Marshall Hospital on Friday, March 15, 2024 in his 86th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth “Beth” (Burkholder) MacPherson (2015). Loved father of Gordon MacPherson and his wife Marina of Brampton, and Andrew MacPherson and his wife Ann of Normanby Township. Dear grandfather of Shaelen, Ainsley, Emma and Megan. Predeceased by his grandson, Owen and his sister Maris Anderson.
A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held at the England Funeral Home, 294 Main Street South, Mount Forest, on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Refreshments will follow. Interment at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Ayton. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Jack are asked to consider the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation. Condolences
I would like to offer my condolences to all of the MacPherson family on Jack’s recent passing. I knew Jack and worked with him for many of the 35 years that I was employed by the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA). Jack was extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help or contribute to many of the water resources projects of the ABCA and other southwestern Ontario Conservation Authorities.
I will always have good memories of working with Jack and trust that the family will always hold their own fond memories of your time together.
To the MacPherson family, please accept our sincerest condolences from the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority. Jack had provided his expertise for decades to Ausable Bayfield, and was instrumental in the development of the flood forecasting and warning network in our watershed, and others. He will be remembered for his dedication, expertise, and above all, his character.

Our condolences to the MacPherson family. Jack worked with MVCA for many years. He was a great mentor and teacher to the staff at MVCA over the years. In 2003 Jack received a Conservation Pioneer Award from Conservation Ontario for his contributions to the field of hydrology and flood forecast over a 40 year period.

Dear family. Deepest condolences from all the staff of BMROSS on the passing away of your father and grandfather, Jack. Its been just over 23 years since Jack retired from BMROSS, put on his hat and "gone fishing" as your memory picture shows, after a very successful career in hydrology with the conservation authority and with us. Jack was an instrumental part of BMROSS, managing our Mount Forest office for many years and equipping us with a knowledge and skills of stormwater management, flood forecasting, and other hydrology related work on top of the daily municipal infrastructure projects he managed. His employment at BMROSS indeed continues to help us to be "engineering better communities". The legacy of your father/grandfather will be remembered. He was always quick to smile and laugh, and we will have fond memories of him.

Dear Gordon, Marina, Andrew, Ann, and family, Our deepest sympathy on the passing of your dad. He was a very nice and helpful man. He was a big help with his SVCA experience in trying to get zoning approval to build the clinic; he knew perfectly which bureaucrats to cry to and which ones to get angry at in order to get approvals moving. Julie and I were saddened to hear about your dad passing and we are sorry for your loss. Although I only met your dad a couple of times, I enjoyed chatting with him, hearing his stories and having a few laughs. Our thoughts are with you and your family in this difficult time.
