Robert “Bob” Slater, of Mount Forest, passed away at his home on Monday, February 12th, 2018 in his 99th year.  Beloved husband of Norma (nee Boucher) of 73 years.  Loving father of Wendy and her husband Bernard Schutt of Pembroke, Geoffrey Slater and his wife Joanne of Nova Scotia, and Richard Slater and his wife Barbara of Fergus.  Cherished Poppy of Leah Schutt, Julia Schutt, Gregory Schutt and his wife Elizabeth, Jennifer and her husband Jeremy Pinkney, Kathryn and her husband Adam Plumstead, and Hillary and her husband Joe Rooyakkers.  G-Poppy of Allison, Jackson, Nolan, Natasha, Addison, Andelyn, Archer and Odin.  Brother-in-law of Janette Slater and uncle of David Slater and his wife Carol, Barry Slater and his wife Peggy, and Nancy and her husband Bill Coates. Bob was a long term resident of Fergus from 1964 to 1978.  He managed the G.S.W (Belwood Appliances) and was very active in the Melville United Church.  Bob also served on many committees, and organizations, including President of the Fergus Rotary Club.  Cremation has taken place.   Please join the family for a time of sharing memories with finger foods and refreshments at a drop in celebration of Bob’s life on Saturday, June 23rd , 2018 from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the “Aboyne Hall” at Wellington County Museum, 0536 Wellington County Rd 18, Fergus, ON (located between Fergus and Elora).  As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation, Mount Forest, would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest.

So very sorry for loss. Bob was a treasure and will always remember the good times at Christmas dinner, the Saturday night dinner dances and the beautiful work you both did on the flower beds in Forest Lake Estates.
