Meagan Byers

BYERS, Meagan Janelle – Tragically, as the result of a car accident on Monday, December 6, 2021, at the age of 22 years. Beloved daughter of Mark and Joanne Byers. Cherished sister of Ashley Byers and her partner Brock Doney, and Justin Byers and his wife Becca. Proud Aunt “Bug” of Brooklynn and Lennox Doney. Meagan will be missed by her good friend Travis Lee, and her dog Marlow. Loving granddaughter of Leslie and Virginia Byers, and Ronald Weber and his friend Marion Officer. Predeceased by her infant brother, Brendan, Grandma Yvonne Weber, Aunt Janice Bye, and cousins Mason Bye and Suzy Quesnel. Meagan is remembered with love by her aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and many friends.

Meagan was a dedicated coach with Mount Forest Minor Hockey and Mount Forest Minor Baseball. She played baseball and hockey in Mount Forest, Durham and surrounding areas. She was a member of the Mohawk College Softball Team. Meagan was in the process of obtaining her Early Childhood Education Diploma and loved to rave about her “kids” for whom she cared. She touched the lives of so many with her infectious laugh, smile, outgoing personality and big blue eyes. Words cannot express how much she is loved and will be missed.

Visitation will be held at the England Funeral Home, 294 Main Street South, Mount Forest, on Saturday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Mount Forest United Church, 175 Queen Street East, Mount Forest, on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Spring interment will take place at Cochrane Cemetery, Mount Forest.

It is so very hard to find the right things to say at such a terrible loss. Meagan every time we saw her always seemed to have a special energy, especially with children. The first time Jack met Meagan at a family reunion, he could not stop talking about her after we left for the day. Her spirit was genuine and we cannot express enough our love and sympathy to all of you at her sudden loss.

We were lucky to be able to get to know Meagan as our kids attended the Y childcare. Meagan was such a bright light with her smiles and friendly nature. She made leaving our kids easier as we knew they would have a fun day. It always put a smile on our faces when we’d pick up and see Meagan with the music on dancing away with the kids. Meagan touched the lives of our children. She will be greatly missed. Sending you love and strength.
