SCHOUTEN, Nick Adrianus - Unexpectedly at the Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest on Tuesday, November 24th, 2020 in his 91st year. Lovingly remembered by his family in Holland. Nick was a farmer in Arthur Township for 60 years. He will be dearly missed by his neighbours and other long-time friends. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 9141 Highway 6, Kenilworth, on Monday, November 30th, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Please note: as per the directive of the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, attendance numbers will be restricted, masks are mandatory and COVID-19 protocols are in place. Condolences
I was only 13 when we moved to the farm on the 2nd of Arthur in 1965. I know my parents and my brother (who is still on the farm) always appreciated having Nick as a neighbor. He was very independent and steady as a neighbor. And a reliable friend in times of need. As I recall, Nick loved to dance. I enjoyed dancing and chatting with him at my mom and dad's 40th-anniversary party.
