Ken Kewin

December 15, 2006

Ken Kewin
KEWIN, Ken (1928 - 2006). Died peacefully in his sleep on December 15, 2006 at the age of 78, surrounded by his family. Ken will be sadly missed, but never forgotten, by his wife, Maxine (Grant), daughters Corinne, Jane, Susan and Nancy, and son Douglas, and by his son-in-laws Greg, Doug, and Brian, and grandchildren Malcolm, Sam, Daryn, and Kevin, as well as his sisters Gwyn and Daphne. Ken remained sharp as a whip right to the end. Now, finally someone else in the family can win at Hearts. Sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre in Kitchener, the Louise Marshall Hospital in Mount Forest, and the many staff of the Wellington-Dufferin CCAC and associated organizations, who provided wonderfully compassionate care. At Ken?s request, private cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A gathering to celebrate the life of Ken Kewin will be held Sunday January 28th at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, located at 159 Eglington Avenue West (located 4 blocks west of Yonge Street) in Toronto. Underground Parking is available across the street at the North Toronto Memorial Community Centre. The memorial service will begin at 2:00p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken?s memory to a charity of your choice. Condolences

I knew Ken for years as we both worked in the same industry (last we were together was at Sony of Canada). My wife, Pat, and I were just reminiscing those years and are both sadden to know that Ken and Maxine have passed away. They were wonderful people and Ken was a great friend the years we did spend together. Till we meet again. Gord and Pat. ♥♥

To Maxine & Family, I am sorry I did not get to know Ken when we were growing up. On rare family visits to Russell Hill I only saw my grandmother, Aunt Dorothy,Uncle George,Gwynneth & Daphne. Ken was someone I only heard about. We sure weren't a close family. My thoughts are with you. Joan Wells

Dear Maxine, I was so sorry to read of Ken's passing in the Star. It seems that he must have been ill for awhile which must have been very difficult for everyone. Ken was a great fellow and we have many wonderful memories of him and the times we all had together. He was such an electronic genius and a great bridge player!! Please let me know when the memorial service will be as I would love to attend. Please give my sincere sympathy to Corinne, Jane, Susan, Nancy and Douglas. I'm sure they are a great support for you. I'll be thinking of you at this difficult time, especially through the holidays. Love, Marg
