I'm thinking of you all, and I'm so glad that I saw Myrtle one last time. I've said so often that she was my hero growing up, and it's absolutely true. I'll always remember her kindness and humour, her wonderful meals, her warmth and generosity, and how she handled everything with so much grace. There'll never be anyone like her. Doesn't sound right to say that I wish I could be there, but I do. I hope tomorrow isn't too hard for you, and you should take comfort in how good you were to her. much love, Mary Lou

Dear Barb, Ken & All of Your Families: I was saddened to hear of the death of your Mom Barb. She was such a kind and gentle person. My Mom always referred to her as "one of the nicest people in Mount Forest". When I was a child, my parents would go in to town to do their shopping on Saturdays. More often then not, it was kind of a social event too. They would meet and greet their neighbours on the street and have their chats. I often remember your Mom and your Dad stopping to chat and share their stories and how enjoyable it was for me to kind of listen in. Those days are sadly gone but I assure you, they are not forgotten. We didn't realize how lucky we all were at the time to have that wonderful community feeling. Truly an end to an era. ~ My condolences to each and every member of your family. "Good people are not forgotten; they are just missed".

Dear Family, so sorry to read of your loss. Many nights the three ladies would be found in with my mom (Ruthie Orchard) It was a time when you never knew what was going to happen or what was going to be said by any of the three. Bless their hearts they all had problems with memory and yet we all laughed at that as they did not remember what one another said. I would always leave feeling thankful that my mom had such wonderful friends and dear Myrtle was certainly one of them. Mother knows she is missing someone yet she does not know who. Myrtle was a true joy to be with and to know and I treasure the time with her at Birmingham Lodge.
