Dear Kenneth & Vivienne. I am thinking of you on the anniversary of my dear Canadian daughter Cyndy's passing. All my love Thelma

— Thelma Gunzburg, August 26, 2014

Dear Kenneth, Vivian and Family I know this must be a very difficult time for you all. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, and Cyndy is always with us in our thoughts and heart. When I lost my husband Charlie, I found strength in these words by Anne Lamott, and I hope you will too: "You will lose someone you can't live without, and your heart will be badly broken, and the bad news is that you never completely get over the loss of your beloved. But this is also the good news, they live forever in your broken heart that doesn't sea, back up and you come through. It's like having a broken leg that never heals perfectly, that still hurts when the weather gets cold, but you learn to dance with the limp". With Love and Sympathy Yolanda Franchina

Cyndy...best friend to my Mum, friend to me, and Aunty to my wee Charlie. Words don't seem to cut it when it comes to describing you...one of a kind! The very best kind. I'm just so glad you were home with your loving husband and your sister who you absolutely adored. For Mum, Charlie and I, you are not gone...we just can't see you for a while. You'll be celebrated every time we have a drink because we know how you loved one of those! And every year on Charlie's birthday, because it's also yours. Rest in peace you beautiful lady. To Viv and Ken...I can't even imagine what you are both going through right now. I'm just so glad she was home with you both at the time of her passing. Thinking of you both so much. Love always, Toni and Charlie xxxxx

Dear Kenny, Viv, Alli, Helen and family, Our sincere condolences on the passing of our great mate Cyndy. We were so privileged to have spent time with her earlier this year when we visited Canada. She came to Toronto, took us out and proudly showed us the sights and delights of her beloved home. We saw the houses she grew up in and heard the funny stories of her childhood, she of course took us to her favourite pub, it was fantastic! In typical "Cyndy" fashion, forever thinking of others, she witnessed how cold we were (being Aussies not used to snow!) and posted us a beautiful handmade scarf soon after returning from our trip. She was also thrilled to learn of the arrival of our first daughter, Eva, in June and sent an abundance of presents. Cyndy has always been Nathan and Brooke's "second Mum" and will always be fondly remembered within her Aussie family here. We love you Cince. Thinking of you all, Nathan, Rennae and Eva Whitney.

— Nathan and Rennae Whitney (Dunsborough,Australia), September 1, 2013

I only had the pleasure of knowing Cyndy these past five years – but never thought of her as anything other than family. She will be missed dearly. She had such an incredible spirit, full of life, energy and love. I never doubted her sincerity and always admired how open she was with how much she cared for and loved her family. I am inspired every day that I think of the spirit, will and determination that Cyndy showed to all of us in these past few years. Her strength and courage was motivating, admirable and something I will always remember. I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to know Cyndy and I know that she will be missed by all the people who were as lucky as we were to have her in their lives.
