It is with regret that I note today the world's loss of a true gentleman. Too many years have passed and where to begin and recall the events that Joe Hakenberg was part of and influenced? Under his patient tutelage I had the distinct pleasure of attempting to learn the Carpentry Trade through my Apprenticeship and then the opportunity to appreciate his understanding of the art of accomplishment while working with him, all during my tenure at Canadian Engineering. As we grew older and went separate ways, I could always recount the experiences of a myriad of projects and remember the mutual appreciation, fellowship and understanding. To Joe’s families I can only offer my sincerest condolences and the wish that you cherish the memories. James
