— Ron and Gayle Dowling, October 22, 2012

Well i dont know where to start. What a special woman, mother, grandma, friend and neighbour. We have so many memories its hard to put them to words. While we were starting our family she was a huge part of our day to day. While she babysat and mentored she raised her own 2 girls, Kim and Mandy. She taught values and gave love and never asked for anything in return. You could count on her for a giant smile or a big hug when she seen you. We are all very lucky to have had your mom give us a piece of herself in the most loving way she could. You will be missed terribly.Always remembered but will never be forgotton.

Gerber and extended families, My family and I volunteer with Betty at the Thrift Store.....it was always a joy to turn the corner and hear her laughing and/or talking to herself while "playing with the toys." I enjoyed giving her a hard time about that. As many say, and I must agree, Betty was one in a million - always giving, sharing and smiling. She always thinks of others and what would make them smile....in our case, she stored ambulances for my children and I to purchase from the Thrift Store to present as gifts for my husband. We are truly saddened by the news - thinking of you all. Regards, Tali, John, Taija and McKenna McGovern

— Tali McGovern, October 21, 2012

Kim,Mandy and Family, It wasn't that many years ago when we found out we had family living not too far from home. What could have been an awkward first meeting turned out not to be awkward at all. Betty had the unique gift of making me feel comfortable right away. She seemed to be well known in town, and with her generous nature, always doing something for someone. I'm glad we had such a good visit when I was down in S Ontario this spring, and I have nothing but good memories of "Cousin" Betty. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Love "Cousin" Si

— Siobhan Beeton, October 21, 2012

Dear family of Betty, Please accept my sincere condolences in the loss of Betty. I will remember her when she used to visit her dad "Shorty," at the nursing home in Mt.Forest when I worked there. I remember her visiting her dad there and I remember her mom Jean at the parties at the McLuhan house when I was young. Everytime I ran into Betty in stores in town, she always had a smile on her face and we would chuckle about the silliness of things in life. She was a wonderful heart and spirit and loved her children and grandchildren so much!!! She was a good and happy soul and one that I so much enjoyed running into. God Bless you all!! Your mom, Grandmom was such a good heart!!!
