Condolences

I met Gerald about 10 years ago. He was introduced to me by his brother Ken and his wife. Gerald had just moved to Tillsonburg and was hoping to meet some new people and find a job. Gerald worked in Tillsonburg and made many friends. He was a hard worker, always at work on time and never missed a day. Gerald was generous to a fault. If you needed it, he would give you his last five bucks, "for sure". Gerald would walk for hours each day, looking for tin to recycle. It seemed that recyling was in his blood, he told me about his father who would fix things and resell them and who would also give the items he repaired away to people who needed them. I did not know Gerald as a young man and so would not know if his memories of his family were truths but his memories were truths to him and he recalled them fondly. Today, many of us mourn the death of our friend, Gerald, we will celebrate his life and all of the wonderful memories we have of Gerald. He was a gentleman who had a wonderful smile and he also made us smile and laugh. Gerald seemed content and enjoyed his way of life until the last days of his life. I hope that his family finds comfort in this. Sincerely, Cathy
