Joseph Grech
GRECH, Joseph – Born on September 24, 1926 in Cospicua, Malta, passed away on August 7, 2020 in Mount Forest, Ontario. Predeceased by his wife Gladys Grech (1996). Beloved Dad of Michael Weston (Tammie) of Welland, Pamela-Jo Grech of Brampton, and John Grech (Ellen) of Mount Forest. Nanu and Poppa to Ken, Tyler, Alannah, Jack, Sidney, Ryan and Tyler. Survived by his brothers Paul (Josie), Sam (Carmen), sisters Mary (Ken), Agnes (Gejtu), sister-in-law Susan (David), as well as many nieces and nephews. Also survived by Cindy Grech Kirbride (Kevin). Predeceased by his sister Antonia, brothers and sisters-in-law Anne Lewis, Andrew Vint, Frances Stewart, Alma Gaspari, and Shirley Vint. Joe came to Canada in 1950, bringing his family a few years later. He was a long-time employee of CN. Upon retirement, he learned how to swim, staying active until his 80’s. So many memories: camping, fishing, working on the cars in the driveway with Mike and John, how to do home renos, teaching Maltese recipes to Pam. His rice was always on the menu for every potluck. Known as the “pear man" to the kids in the neighborhood. He loved going to Malta and seeing his family and sharing stories of who, what, where and when. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest.
