We had plans to come to the service this morning but the forecast came true and the weather was horrible. All the best and I hope you can now find some Peace, and may your music continue to be an inspiration and a consolation.

Mike and I became fast friends when we were both elected to County Council for the first time in 2003. We both stood up for the taxpayers. I don't think I will ever forget Mike arguing for lower taxes by stating, repeatedly, that he had been a Councillor for 18 years and he had never seen a budget process like this. He made the Warden crazy! He was a really dedicated and hard working guy. I'm sorry that I can't attend but I've recently been released from hospital and am just recovering.

— Beth and Dan Spear and family, February 12, 2016I had the privilege of working with Mike for 4 years in Wellington North, in my first job as a Municipal Administrator. For the first year he was a Councillor who often voted against the rest of Council. He then became Mayor for 2 terms and led the municipality through many significant changes. While we did not always see eye to eye on everything, Mike was always in jovial spirits and always had the best interests of the community as his number one priority. I will always remember those years in Wellington North and Mayor Mike with fondness. Anja
