Dear Peter, Dan and Bill: My deepest condolences to you and your families. I have missed seeing Elva over the years since moving to Ottawa and I was truly saddened to hear this news. While I am certain that she will be happy in heaven and God will take good care of her, she was most certainly an angel on this Earth too! She was one of the sweetest, kindest people I have ever met. As you are aware, I was also fortunate enough to know her as was my first employer and I can honestly say that she was the best boss that I have ever had. I have so many fun and fond memories of waitressing at McGuinty's Drive-In as a teenager and I learned a lot under her leadership and guidance. Elva never asked anyone to do something that she would not do herself. She lovingly prepared a home-cooked meal at the back of the restaurant for "her girls" who had a shift on Sunday during the supper hour. She enjoyed sharing a quick cup of tea if there happened to be a spot in the work day that was not too busy and she personally ensured that everyone had a ride home at closing time. Elva worked very hard but she never seemed to run out of patience and she always had a beautiful smile on her face. My love to All. Take care. Sincerely - Sherri (Eurig) Nipius.
