Condolences

I met Roy after his troubles with the Ontario SPCA. He was charming, had a lovely voice, great story teller, inordinately proud of his heritage and VERY stubborn!! Roy was close to his parents and felt the weight of fulfilling what he felt were their last wishes. When I knew him he had trouble walking. I think we saw each other face to face maybe twice. Mostly we talked on the phone or via email. His struggle for justice with regard to the Ontario SPCA remains of legal significance. Being unjustly deemed unfit to care for animals crushed and robbed him. He dedicated himself to overturning this verdict. Roy's struggles with the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA) impacted and encouraged many people. I'm sorry he died at such an early age. I will miss him.

To Roy's family. I was sincerely shocked and so very sorry to hear of Roy's passing. He travelled a very hard road, but did it with dignity. I met Roy when he had his difficulties with the OSPCA, and they penalized him for many years. I tried to assist him but he had many mountains to overcome and the OSPCA made him pay with his life. My sincere sympathy to you and may finally rest in peace. Carl
