Tim, Jarrett, Nicole, and Katrina and family: I was deeply saddened to hear of Beth's passing. I considered her a dear friend and colleague. I will always treasure our years together at Harriston Sr. and Minto Clifford. We shared many stories and laughs together. I'll always remember teasing her about the music she loved to play, how she always decorated the office for the season, and how proudly she spoke of all of you. She was a wonderful, caring person who always had time for staff and students, no matter how busy she was or how trivial the request. She touched the lives of so many in such a positive way. Her gentle kindness will never be forgotten. Minto Clifford has never been the same. Hold on to the precious memories you have created with her and take comfort in the love that you shared, as I will do. Sincerely, Debbie

— Ruth Mather Halford, February 7, 2012

It's so hard to believe Beth isn't with us any more. I've known her since I was born. Our families spent wonderful times together tobogganing on Lang's Hill, swimming and boating at the cottage on Georgian Bay, singing together in the choir for many years. Beth is in all my childhood birthday party pictures. Nobody had better dimples than Beth! Dorothy and Wilson--no parent should ever have to go through this. Randy, Ted, Flora, and Sheila--I know what it's like to lose a sister. You cry so much that you wonder how a body can make so many tears. Tim, Jarrett, Nicole, Katrina and all the grandchildren--our deepest, deepest sympathy for your loss. I was reminded only recently about how, as a young child, every time I played "pretend" at my grandmother's house in Collingwood, I would say, "I want to be Beth Brown." That, in itself, is quite a tribute to how much I admired her and wanted to be just like her. With great sympathy, George & Lynda

— George & Lynda (Stewart) McGowan, February 7, 2012
