I'm so sorry for you loss Ann I didn't know Alf for a long time, and the time we spent together was even shorter, but those 6 months that we worked together on the Namakan Bridge project were tough, but very rewarding in the end. Alf was one of my mentors and a father figure to me as well as a friend while i worked in Ontario. I will always remember him and his many words of wisdom. The picture of the Namakan Bridge that he gave me has always and will continue to hang on my office wall as a reminder of the rewards that can be attained through hard work and perseverance in the face of adversity. It was so nice to see you guys last summer here in Newfoundland and this past June in Toronto. I wish I could be there with you at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and you family. Dennis, Valerie, Devan and Jenna from Newfoundland

I am sure with your family and friends many memories will be shared. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. Sincerely, Barb and Tom Schellenberger.

our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Les is so glad that he had a good visit with him on the phone before we left for Texas. He always enjoyed their visits at the pond and of course, I enjoyed his humor. He has gone the way we would all like to go only MUCH too soon.

Anne and extended family: We all join in sharing your very sad loss of Alfred. He died too young, but memories of him will live for a long time. I will always have a picture in my mind of his perennial smile and gentle and gentlemanly manner.

My deepest sympathy to Ann, Barb and Heather on the loss of Alfred. I will remember his kindness, generosity and quick wit. I often think of Alfred and the pond when I smell a wood stove burning and remember good times spent with the family.

Anne My sincerest condolences on Alfred's passing. Shock at the suddenness has me reeling. I wish I could be there to offer my wishes in person but I am out of the country until Jan. 6. I do hope memories of a life well lived and a very solid and satisfying marriage will help you cope. I will be in touch on my return and only wish I could be at the service to offer support. Thinking of you at this very sad time. Linda
