COWAN, Flora May (née McNaughton) – Passed away peacefully at the Louise Marshall Hospital on Friday, August 6th, 2021, at the age of 88.  Predeceased by her beloved husband, Murray W. Cowan (1995). Cherished mother of Larry Cowan and his wife Barbara, Norma Lamont and her husband Donald, and Wanda Chilton and her husband Daniel Lenehan.  Loving grandmother of Jason (Tracey) Lamont, Christy (Todd) Tangney, Joel Lamont, Aaron (Melissa) Chilton, Deanna (Ryan) Maiden, Taylor Chilton, Will Cowan, Erin Lenehan, and Tyler Lenehan.  Dear great-grandmother of Haven and Brynne Tangney; Shayne, Jessy and Carly Lamont; Bennett and Isla Chilton; Amory Maiden; and Liam Noval.  Flora will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Eleanor Detweiler, and brothers-in-law Walter “Butch” Detweiler and Mervyn Cowan.  Predeceased by her sister-in-law Kathlyne Cowan and brother-in-law Verdun Cowan.  Daughter of the late Cameron and Janet (née Mountain) McNaughton.  Flora was a member of Mount Forest Presbyterian Fireside, Women’s Institute and The Rebekah Lodge.  She was a long-time travel guide for Fettes Tour & Travel.  Through all these life adventures, the thing most precious to her was family.  She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Flora’s home was always open to family, friends and neighbours. She will not be forgotten, and her memory will live on through her family.  A private family service will be held at the England Funeral Home with interment at Mount Forest Cemetery.  Extended family and friends are invited to view the service livestream on Tuesday, August 10th at 11:00 a.m. by visiting: https://www.facebook.com/England-Funeral-Home-1863283503935858.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Patient Services or the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation.  In honour of Flora, please reach out to your family and friends – pick up the phone, send a card, tell them you love them!  Arrangements entrusted to the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest.
