Condolences
Decided to get ‘caught up’ on Mt Forest obituaries s we lived there for six years; met Darlene when I worked briefly at Foodland.
She and everyone I met & worked with were always so cheerful and friendly. A while ago I learned she had fought stomach cancer.
God bless her and her wonderful family; she’s no longer suffering.
Mike, Luke, Chris and family

I really enjoyed working with Dar. She was an amazing person. Like to send my condolences to the Johnson family.
— Derek Aitken, September 9, 2021We could write a whole page on all the wonderful memories we have of Darla. I first met Dar when I was only 3 months old, where she taught me all the important things early on: enjoy your time with friends, always make time for a visit, and laugh loud and often. Throughout my younger years, she was always one of the voices I could always pick out over the crowd skating down the ice or running down the field, "run bones run!". The Johnson's was always a favourite place to visit, transitioning from playing with the boys to having a couple on the deck, lots of laughs were had when we were with them, the loudest laugh and the one guaranteed to make everyone else laugh was Dar. She was my mom's best friend, my best friend's mom, and like a mother to me, she was caring, loving, carefree, and her zest for life was contagious. We are going to miss her beyond measure, our visits back to Mount Forest will not be the same. But, we are lucky to have met her, and I am so, SO lucky to have known her for so much of my life, I would not be the person I am today without having Dar in my life. We will miss you Dar, rest in peace.
— Jessey Rice and Hilary White, September 9, 2021To all of Dar's family,

Sincere condolences to you Mike, also to your sons and their families. I had not seen or talked to Darlene recently, but one day, seems like not that long ago, Dar, daughter-in-law and grandson were out for a walk down the street where I live. I was glad to see all three and we enjoyed a few words with each other. As usual, Darlene was all smiles. She was such a strong woman and never complained. I admired her. I believe the first time I met Darlene, was many years ago, playing softball against each other at the Optimist ball diamond, here in Mount Forest. She and sister, Donna, were great ball players and fun as well.
My sympathy to you Donna and Brian, also.

My sincere condolences to the Johnson family on the passing of Dar. I had the great pleasure of having Dar as a supervisor for approximately 9yrs. in the deli. She was the best, so patient and easy going. The many laughs we had and all what she taught me will stay with me. I still hear her voice in my head of different things to do in the deli. I will miss her but know she’s resting in peace now with no more pain. Hoping god will help you all through this troubled time. Memories are worth talking about and you have them for a life time.
