I am saddened to hear of Rene's passing. She was truly a unique and wonderful lady- always positive. She was a skilled meat cutter at a time when women did not normally take on that kind of job. Later on I enjoyed lots of great meals at her restaurants. One of Mt. Forest's finest citizens- she will be missed. My condolences to all of her family. Cam Noble, Waterloo— Cam Noble, April 27, 2023
What a wonderful woman she was. Rene had a big heart and was super patient as she happily taught me her catering craft. It was an honour to work for her, and to eventually cater to her. She will be missed.— Steve Chambers, April 27, 2023

Rene was my first supervisor at my (real) first job - and I still remember her kindness and patience teaching me everything I needed to know. She had a passion for customer service and no matter what was going on - she always found a positive and calm way through it. We worked hard, and we laughed hard. I can honestly say
Rest in peace, dear Rene.
