Victor Ruffolo

RUFFOLO, Victor – Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, January 29, 2024 in his 87th year.

Victor was born in the Calabria Region of Italy in 1937. The third of 10 children of tenant farmers Michele and Giuseppina (Rende) Ruffolo. They emigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1952 where fate would reunite him with his childhood sweetheart Carmela, daughter of Pietro and Giuseppina. They were wed in 1958 and enjoyed 66 years of marriage. Victor will be lovingly remembered by his three children: Michael (Wayne), Angela Orr (Bruce), and Paul (Glenna); and his three grandchildren: David (Julia), Mathew (Rowan), and Sophia. He will also be missed by his siblings: Orlando (late Annamaria), Maria (late Angelo), Frank (Gail), Louie (Roberta), Carmen (Claudette), late Dante (Wendy), Hilda (Sal), Carmelina (John), late Giovanni; in-laws: Frank (Pauline), late Ida (Ralph), Tony (Judy), Mario (Doreen), John (Mary), Sandro (Marilyn), Anna (Emilio); and many nieces and nephews.

At the age of 17 Victor started Ruffolo Bros., a painting and decorating business that included several impressive projects from Toronto to Montreal. The family moved to Arthur Twp. in 1972 to a Christmas tree farm as a semi-retirement project. His entrepreneurial restlessness inspired him to turn the property into Conestoga Family Camp and expand to develop Conestoga Estates. His final and largest project was founding Quality Manufactured Homes in 1987.

Victor was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Mary of the Purification Church Building Committee, and Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation. Despite his accomplishments, his greatest legacy is that of a loving husband, father, and Nonno.

His wish was for cremation with a private, family-only interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Victor’s memory may be made to the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation or St. Mary of the Purification Church, Mount Forest. Arrangements entrusted to the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest.

From 1987 until 1999, Vic built the foundation for a great Company that still remains solid for continuing growth to this day.
The fact that so many employees that worked with Vic are still with the company, is a testament to the Quality brand and Vic's dream.
