Fredrick John “Fred” Hoehn

HOEHN, Fredrick John “Fred” – Passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, September 1, 2024 in his 84th year. Cherished husband of Dianne Hoehn (née Hallman) for 60 years. Loving father of Suzanne (Allen) Morrison, Terry (Jennifer) Hoehn, and Penny (Jay) Lewis. Dear grandfather of Shannon (Craig) Wood, Evan Morrison, Erika Morrison, Ryanne Hoehn (Tyler Huitema), Caleb Hoehn, Blake (Elyse) Lewis, Cory Lewis (Yasemeen Iravani), and Will Lewis (Lovepreet Garewal); and great-grandfather of Taylin and Wally Lewis. Survived by his sister-in-law Shirley Hallman and many cousins. Predeceased by his parents Keith and Margaret Hoehn, and brothers-in-law Bill (Arlene) Waite and Ronald Hallman. 

Fred had many careers over the years, including Stelco in Hamilton, owner of Hoehn’s Family Shoes and Gas Manager at North Wellington Co-op. Fred was a dedicated volunteer in the community – he spent countless hours supporting various organizations. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. 

A celebration of life will be held at the Egremont Optimist Club, 392137 Grey County Road 109, Holstein, on Friday, September 6th at 3:00 p.m., followed by refreshments. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Fred are asked to consider Cancer Patient Services.

I can recall our time together in the Kinsmen Club and buying footwear at his store.
