Amber Anne Ghent

GHENT, Amber Anne

January 3, 2014 – May 12, 2025

It is with broken hearts that the family of Amber Ghent announce her tragic passing. Cherished daughter of Trina Ghent and Adam Ghent and his fiancée Trish Murray. Adored little sister of Avery Ghent. Loved step-sister of Cole, Devin and Carter Murray. Beloved granddaughter of Annamaria Franco-Cox, John Cox (Pat Lane), Brad Ghent and the late Sandra Wilhelm. Also loved by many more grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and classmates. Amber’s family is a beautiful patchwork of many colourful people, stitched together with love.

Amber was truly one-of-a-kind – a happy and bubbly soul. Her energy was contagious, her smile lit up a room, and she brought so much joy to those around her. She was the kind of child who left a little sparkle everywhere she went. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Purification Roman Catholic Church, 310 Parkside Drive, Mount Forest, on Monday, May 19th at 11:00 a.m. Private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Following, a celebration of Amber’s life will be held at the Mount Forest Sports Complex, 850 Princess Street, Mount Forest, from 1:00-3:00 p.m., with words of remembrance at 2:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed and may be viewed by visiting the funeral home website and clicking on the link below Amber’s obituary. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Amber are asked to consider the Ronald McDonald House or McMaster Children’s Hospital (c/o Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation).

I was blessed to be Amber’s music teacher. She was such a bright, warm light in the classroom and everywhere she went. Whenever I came into the classroom , she would make sure to greet me with a warm hug and a gigantic smile. She truly was a magnificent little girl. I really enjoyed watching her sing: especially This is Me from the Greatest Showman. She had such a caring heart for helping others- a natural gift. She would help anyone who needed an extra hand, and always showed such gracious patience. Amber, you will truly be missed. My deepest condolences to the family.

Having only worked at the school for two years now, I did not get the chance to teach Amber but I did interact with her often. Amber definitely was a bright light in our school community—a kind, caring, and a beautiful soul who always looked out for others. Her gentle spirit and warm smile touched everyone she met. There was not a time that I didn’t pass her in the hallway or outside at recess where she wouldn’t stop to say hello or have a quick conversation. Just being around Amber, made our days a little brighter. Though her time with us was far too short, the impact she made will never be forgotten. My thoughts and deepest sympathies are with her family, friends, and all who loved her. There is no doubt that our school community will miss Amber dearly and we will cherish the special moments and memories we all shared with her.
