READ, Marielle – Peacefully at Strathcona Long Term Care on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late John Read (2000). Loving mother of Don Read and Josee Read, both of Mount Forest, and Michael Read of Brampton. Marielle will be missed by her grandchildren: Nancy Officer (Jeff), Denis Read (Christy), Alysha Zamanuel (Micah), Jeshua Read (Rebecca), Shemara Read, Jacob Kerr, Jarren Kerr (Cassandra), and Connor Kerr, her six great-grandchildren, her seven sisters and brothers, and by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Marielle is predeceased by her five brothers and sisters.
After retirement, Marielle enjoyed working at Ramoth Life Centre, and worked there for 16 years. She loved to quilt and sew, her family enjoyed receiving those gifts over the years. But above all she loved spending time with her grandchildren, relishing every moment.
A memorial service to celebrate Marielle’s life will be conducted at the England Funeral Home, 294 Main Street South, Mount Forest on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. A reception will immediately follow the service at the Mount Forest Pentecostal Church, 259 Fergus Street South, Mount Forest. Interment at the Mount Forest Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Marielle are asked to consider the Alzheimer Society of Ontario.
