BRESSON, Karen Irene – Peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 in her 67th year, after a brief illness, with diagnosis in May. Beloved wife for almost 39 years to Kent Bresson. Loving mother of Tyler Bresson and his wife Jen, and Trevor Bresson. Dear sister of Kenneth Coutts. Karen will be missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Lorne and Kathleen Coutts.
Karen had a passion for gardening and loved birds. She would spend her summers in her garden, enjoying all what nature offered. She savoured her last four years of retirement, but above all, she loved her family, and was a proud mother to her boys and their families.
A private graveside service will be held at Mount Forest Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Karen are asked to consider the Waterloo Wellington Regional Cancer Program (c/o the Waterloo Regional Health Foundation). — Karen Eddie, August 16, 2025I’m deeply saddened to hear of Aunt Karen’s passing, and my heart is heavy for Kent, Tyler, and Trevor. The love she had for her family was always so clear, and it’s heartbreaking that she had to say goodbye so soon. I hope the memories of her beautiful gardens and the strength of your family bring you some peace in this time of grief. Thinking of you all and sending love.

— Barry & Thelma (Duncan) Rawn, August 10, 2025Dear Kent, Tyler & Jen, Trevor Bresson, Kenneth Coutts, Family & Friends.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences for Karen. We were friends for a couple years, back when Mount Forest was a happening place to be young. Before Karen and Kent had eyes for each other, we would usually meet at Kirk's fruit stand or the library steps on a Friday night, just to watch everyone out touring up and down Main Street. We were both hard-working girls the rest of the week, but the weekends were ours! We never hung out at the hotels a lot in the Summer & would usually gather in Karen's apartment near Carpet Country. I don't have very many pictures of her and the ones I do have are poor quality. Nonetheless, they're still nice to see her young beautiful self. More often than not, she would start the night off without glasses. She hated wearing them and would start with contacts. As the night wore on, her eyes would start to bother her, so we'd head back, get her glasses and then go back out! There was never a dull moment once Kent showed up! haha. Never saw a couple that adored each other more. 39 years, wow! I left Mount Forest for Thunder Bay, to go to college, then met my husband, had two children & the rest is history. Karen and Kent (I believe) left for Listowel. Only met Kent once at Maple Fest, and often met her Mama Kay, giving us both a chance to 'catch up' on how things were going with Karen & family. Karen was always in my thoughts over these fast flying years. Sometimes, the friends we make when we're young come and go, but the memories always stay, thankfully. Just young girls hanging out, keeping each other safe and making memories.
I'm glad to hear she was able to retire, enjoy the birds and the flowers, and to pass peacefully at home.
I will be thinking of all of you at this sad and difficult time. Take care of each other... sincerely Jane.
