September 9, 2025

McLELLAN, Kenneth George “Ken” – Passed away at Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 in his 86th year. Cherished husband of Joan (née Noble) for 67 years. Beloved father of Jennifer (Michael) Bilton, Sheri (Bob) Morris, Jason (Wendy), Shannon McLellan (Andrew Ellis), and the late Shelley McLellan (2012). Ken will be missed by his fur babies, Minnie and Missy. Dear grandfather of Wesley, Avery, Nicholas, Dylan, Lauren, Taylor, Megan, Emily and Matthew. Remembered by his sisters Joyce Southcote and Nancy Sieber; and by his very special nephew, Jamie McLellan. Predeceased by his brothers Jack and Hap, and sisters Shirley Hunter and Sharon Murphy.
Ken was a successful entrepreneur and business owner - McLellan Disposal, Varney Motor Speedway, and Artic Clear. He had an incredible gift – the ability to start and grow a business and connect with people. Ken was a dedicated hockey and racecar fan and will be deeply missed in the stands in his beloved communities. He was a very personable and kind-hearted man, who put his family and friends first. He made sure to make everyone feel welcomed and included.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff at Louise Marshall Hospital in Mount Forest and Guelph General Hospital. Also, to the Paramedics and Health Patient Transfer Services Staff. Special thanks to the Mount Forest Patriots for the honour given to Ken this past year. — Jim and Kay Fettes, September 19, 2025Dear Joan,
I was truly sorry to hear about Ken’s passing. Please accept my deepest condolences.
It’s been over 40 years since I worked at McLellan Disposal, but I still carry the impact of that time with me. Ken and I had different perspectives at times, yet those experiences challenged me in ways that helped shape my future. One of the most meaningful things he did was support me in getting my truck driver’s license. That opportunity allowed me to find summer work and helped me pay for my education while I was at university. Looking back, that license quietly paved the way to the career I have today as a CPA, CA.
Ken’s influence extended far beyond the workplace. His dedication to his family, his business, and the community left a lasting impression on many. I hope you find comfort in the love that surrounds you and in the legacy Ken leaves behind.
Thinking of you and your family during this difficult time.
