Condolences

I went to school with Alex in Holstein many years ago. I saw him again at the celebration of life for my brother, Aubrey Brown at Maplewood Cemetery. It was good to talk to him after so many years. I send my sincere condolences to his family and to his sister Noreen who also attended Holstein Continuation School.

Alex was always willing to help out our mother (Shirley Prendergast) whenever a little something needed fixing. He would often pop over for a glass of wine or a cold beer and share stories of his beloved horses or how he met Joan at "The Spot" in Mount Forest. Thinking of Alex today and sending heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. We are sincerely grateful for his kindness and friendship during mom's time at Pike Lake.

We recently honoured Alex as he retired from the Mount Forest Thrift Shop. Alex had volunteered with the store since it opened 16 years ago. He was our own "Mr. Fix It". He enjoyed coming to the store and we loved having him. And of course, always a story or two of days gone by. Alex was a great man and will be missed by all who knew him.
