Reg Mason

MASON, Reg - Passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, loyal friend, and a man deeply respected by all who knew him.

Reg was known for his kindness, generosity, and quiet strength. He was a talented and skilled man with a deep interest in drawing, painting, writing, woodworking, and history — interests that reflected his creativity, curiosity, patience, and attention to detail. He was well recognized within his community for both his abilities and his character, though he never sought attention or praise.

As a police officer, Reg served his community with integrity and compassion both on and off duty. He was actively involved in local initiatives, including Racing Against Drugs, an anti-drug education program in elementary schools. He also brought joy to many children by playing Santa in kindergarten classrooms, a role he took great pride in. Reg was deeply committed to youth and sport, serving as President of Mount Forest Minor Hockey for many years, where he was a steady and dedicated presence.

Above all else, Reg put his family and friends first. At his core, he was a man who consistently put others before himself.

Reg is survived by his beloved wife, Ada; his sister Connie (Garry); his sisters-in-law Helen and Hazel (Lamont); his daughters Laura (Jeremiah) and Marsha (Nicholas); his sons Steve (Sarah), Dave (Andrea), and Scott; his grandchildren Tyler, Emily, Beau, and Mikaela; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, February 21st from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 134, 140 King Street West, Mount Forest. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, or the Canadian Cancer Society. Donations and online condolences may be made at www.englandfuneralhome.com

My heartfelt condolences for the loss of your father.

I’d like to think he and my father, who also passed on January 2nd, struck up a conversation while on their way to the next figurative destination.

Dear Ada and family,

Val and I are deeply saddened to hear of Reg's passing. He was posted to our OPP Identification Unit in Mount Forest in the1980's
and all were struck by his deep sense of duty and expertise in his demanding work. Reg's work ethic was admirable. We became great friends and maintained that friendship over the years. We had recently chatted with him about the family and life in general. We know he cherished his connection Ada with you and so enjoyed the years you shared together.
He was a great man whom we admired. We extend to you and your family our sincere condolences for your loss. You are in our thoughts at this sad time.
