Ronald

REID, Ronald George – Passed away at Louise Marshall Hospital on Friday May 22, 2026 at the age of 76 years. Survived by his loving and devoted wife and best friend Donna Reid (née MacEachern) for over 54 years. He will be missed by his daughter and biggest fan Trina Reid and will be celebrated daily by his grandchildren and namesake Geron Weber, John Ray and Kennedy Ray. He is survived by his sisters; Marilyn Kinston, Susan (Paul) Finn, Tacey (Frank) Haid, and Dawn MacEachern, his special aunt: Isabella McLellan, sisters and brothers-in-law: Donna (Rich) Kalen, Lois (Leonard) Schmidt, Brenda (Terry) Schmidt, Earl Tucker, Janice Reid, Ken (Debbie) Reid, Alan Reid, and Kevin Reid. Ron will be missed dearly by his extended family and friends whose lives he touched with his big heart, endless wisdom and sense of humour. He is predeceased by his parents Clifton & Pearl (née McLellan) Reid and Roger & Eveleen MacEachern, his sisters Julie Laithwaite and Joyce Tucker, and his brothers Howard Reid, Fred Kingston, Ken MacEachern, and Jim MacEachern.

Ron had a lengthy battle with Leukemia, but chose to walk on and live with dignity to see his family grow and flourish. He was a true hero to those who knew him.

Ron would never shy away from a hard day’s work, in fact, he loved his work and was greatly respected by his employers and co-workers. There was not a machine that Ron could not operate and fix.

Ron was involved in the family horse training business, starting at a young age. He was involved in training some world class champions. He was an avid reader, full of knowledge from current world issues to history, he was truly informed, interested in learning and teaching others.

He loved car racing, whether it was racing cars, building cars, or watching a good race, some of his fondest memories were at various racetracks, especially watching open wheel dirt car racing.

Ron celebrated every moment and felt he lived a good life. He saw a lot and lived a lot. He knew who his people were. He was proud of his grandchildren and loved his wife in ways that could not be measured. Ron leaves behind many shared stories of love, hard work, good times and inspiration. He was delt a tough hand in his young life, but found true love and lived a life worth living on his own terms. Leaving this earth is heartbreaking for his family, but Ron’s spirit will flourish in his family forever, until they are called back home to be with him again.

Ron was proud of his grandchildren and ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to his grandson, John Ray’s Go Fund Me for his Wheelchair Van, or to the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation, as he and his family were grateful for the care offered to them. A Celebration of Ron’s Life will he held at a later date. England Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements. Condolences and online donations available at www.englandfuneralhome.com

Dear Trina, your mum and kiddos, sending my love to you. He was one of my favourite " friend dad", and I have special memories from when we were kids. In the last few years your stories and chats let me know him a little bit more. You and the kids carry him on in who you are and your stories you tell. He was and will always be so proud of you, and I don't think he will ever truly leave your side. Hugs to all you,
