John Williamson

WILLIAMSON, John Howard - It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of John Howard Williamson on Sunday, June 28, 2026, with his wife and children by his side. A devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather, John touched the lives of many with his warmth and humour.

Born April 25, 1954, John was the son of the late Beatrice Sams (née Marcoux) and the late Howard Williamson, and the stepson of the late Norman Sams.

He shared nearly 44 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Lynn (née Lambourne). He was a dedicated father to Aimee Karagiorgakis (née Williamson) and her husband Tony, Shane Williamson, and Chase Williamson. Proud grandfather to Ryleigh, Leo, Eleni, and Giannis. John was the beloved brother to his sisters, Diane, Carol, and the late Renee, and held a special place in the hearts of his extended family. He was a much-loved uncle and great-uncle to many.

John was committed community member, social golfer, reader, music lover, and collector of useless facts. Known for his quick wit, John always had a joke to share, and his humour and animated spirit never faded. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the providers who supported John over the years, including PSWs, therapy teams, group and program facilitators, and participants who shared in his journey. The family is grateful to Dr. Weinstein, Nurse T, and the care team at Louise Marshall Hospital for their compassionate care and support.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at the Mount Forest Curling Club, 144 Egremont Street South, Mount Forest, on Sunday, September 13th from 2:00-4:00 p.m., come-and-go.

Donations may be made in John’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation, Mount Forest. Donations and online condolences may be made at www.englandfuneralhome.com
