Andrew Capell

CAPELL, Andrew John - It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew John Capell on Saturday, August 1, 2026, in his 46th year.

Andrew was the eldest of seven children and is lovingly remembered by his parents, Marcia and John; his six siblings, Alan (Janelle), Aileen (Clinton), Amy, Aaron (Kristina), Alison, and Aidan (Katelyn); and by his aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

In his younger years Andrew embraced life with an adventurous spirit and a willingness to take on new challenges. He enjoyed participating in many sports including swim team, soccer and baseball. He especially cherished time spent at the family cottage, where he was always eager to push himself on the water, mastering the challenge of staying on a tube in flight, as well as waterskiing and swimming. Those moments reflected his determination, sense of adventure, and love of being active.

Andrew was always up for spending time with family and friends and enjoyed nothing more than a good conversation. Whether sharing stories, debating ideas, or simply talking about life, he appreciated meaningful discussions with anyone willing to join in. His quick wit, curiosity, and ability to spark conversation will be remembered by those who knew him.

Though our paths together were not always close, Andrew will be remembered with love and compassion. We choose to hold onto the memories of his younger years, his adventurous nature, his enthusiasm for life, and the moments of laughter and connection he shared with those around him. May those memories bring comfort and peace to all who knew him.

Andrew was proud to walk his own path in life, and we will remember him as our beautiful, smart, funny and considerate young man.

Our family is considering a celebration of Andrew’s life at a later date and should you want to make a memorial donation, please choose a charity of your choice, Safe ‘N Sound Grey Bruce, or Stepping Stone Guelph.

We thank our friends and our community for your compassionate and generous support.

To the whole Capell family;
You have our deepest sympathy with the loss of your son and brother. It is very hard to lose someone so young but also hard to watch their struggles. We knew and loved Andrew through our church and we hope he felt our acceptance and love. He, and all of you remain in our prayers.

My family and I send our condolences.
So many memories I don’t know where to start.
Andrew was one of my best friends growing up.
I spent a lot of time at the Capell’s. I was fortunate to be invited up to the cottage in the summer.
I learned a few things up there. I learned about the “circle of death”, “figure 8” and to wake up early or you won’t get a fresh cinnamon roll.
Andrew was a friend I could always count on. It didn’t matter what time of day I would show up at his house, he’d put on shoes and off we’d go.
We eventually grew apart but I’ve always held onto these memories.
I hope you’re finally at peace my friend.
Until we meet again.

John, Marcie and family. So sorry for your loss. I remember Andrew when he was younger going to school with my son, playing sports and laughing with his buddies. He is now at peace, all the evils that plagued him are now gone. He is in a better place.
