DAVIS, Donald Harold – Of Mount Forest, passed away surrounded by family, at the Louise Marshall Hospital on Monday, October 19, 2026 in his 92nd year.
Donald was born on April 19, 1935, in Toronto. He spent much of his working life in the financial services industry, while also dedicating himself to raising his children on his own. Don had a lifelong passion for trains and took great pleasure in building and maintaining his model railway layouts. There was always a place in his home for his trains, a hobby that brought him countless hours of enjoyment. Following his retirement, Don had hoped to turn his passion into something more by opening a shop of his own.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan (Donald); his sons, Richard (Sharon) and Bryan (Donna); his grandchildren, Donna, Jeffrey (Alyssa), Cheryl Ann, Amy, Anthony, Katelyn, Joshua and Marshall; great-grandchildren; Owen (Bailey), Cynthia, Gwendolyn, Wesley and Alivia, and nephews; Jason (Carrie), Jeremy (Heather), Ethan, Rylan, and Carleigh. He was predeceased by his father Harold C. Davis, mother LaDores M. Davis (née Lott), brother Kenneth A. Davis, wife Donna Jean Davis (née Batt), and daughter Cynthia L. Dawes (née Davis).
A celebration of Don’s life will be held at the England Funeral Home, 294 Main Street South, Mount Forest on Saturday, November 7th from 2:00-4:00 p.m., with sharing of family memories at 2:30 p.m.
