It is a sad day to learn of the passing of Aunt Dody. She was a wonderful person who cared dearly for all her family and friends. Her late husband Lenny was my father's brother and Aunt Doty was my Dad's best friend from the age of 14. He later stood up as Best Man at my parents wedding which ironically was 64 years ago today, 25 June 1955. My mother, Shirley Ellen McMeekin (nee: Snowe) and my Dad, John Eldon McMeekin, admired Aunt Dody for her personality, kindness and positive attitude. Aunt Dody treated my Mom like a sister. They were very close and all of us in the entire McMeekin family loved and respected her dearly. It is a blessing that she lived to her 93 rd year. Yet, even when a person of that age passes away, there is a feeling of sadness and loss. We will all certainly miss her dearly. However, for those of us who truly knew her and her amazing appreciation for life, family and friends, hopefully, we will gain comfort in knowing that she was no doubt one of the many saintly women in this world who would agree that, "everybody wants to go to Heaven, but nobody wants to die." She was an amazing lady and will be missed by all. Let us give thanks for all the years and happiness we shared with her during her lifetime. May God Bless her and welcome her soul to Heaven with Him for eternity. Jacki-Dawn McMeekin Mississauga, ON

Wendy, Cindy and Fred and families; Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as we are saddened by the loss of your MOM. We are fortunate that we were at her Birthday Party in 2017 where we got to have special time with her. Like your Dad, Len, we go way back to them both knowing me in my youth. Your Mom lived a long love and was special to a lot of people. I’m very thankful to have known her. Gary & Carol Walsh

Dearest Family Dody was the most positive person I had ever met. There were no mountains she couldn’t climb. I always admired my first cousin’s great sense of confidence. She was an excellent role model to us all. Love Cousin Pat

Dody. Her name itself brings a smile to my face as I speak it. It is impossible for anyone that knew her to not smile when they think of the kindness and love that this woman had for every single person she met. She touched my life in so many ways, but mostly, just by being there and always supportive no matter what the situation. Her house was a gathering place, a home and a safe haven for my whole life. You will be dearly missed by myself and countless others Dody. I am very proud to have been a part of your life. May you rest in eternal peace. Xoxo
