Marjorie Graham
Marjorie Graham, widow of Eric (Rick) N. Graham, passed away on May 16th, 2019 in her 82nd year.

She is survived by her children Sheryll Veidemanis (Mark) of Mount Forest, Sandra (Mike) Campbell of Mildmay, and Mike Graham of Mount Forest; grandchildren Jody Krahn, Heather Pilkey, Alex Pilkey, Katie Veidemanis; Jessica, Melissa, and Alicia Campbell; Kim and Lisa Graham; and great grandchildren Chelsea, Madison, Savannah, Alyiah, and Kaleb Krahn;  Kori and Mason Pilkey-Burns, and Evelyn and Abagale Eurig. She leaves one sister Carol Cunningham (Jack) of Fredericton, New Brunswick, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Rick (2009), her son Joseph (by accident in 1985), and stillborn son Steven. Predeceased also by her parents, Alex (1963) and Mildred Hovey (2011), her brothers Murray (1984) and Leonard (1968), and her sister Melva Colford (2009).

Marjorie grew up on a small farm in the tiny community of Canoose, New Brunswick, where she attended a one-room room school with a dozen or so others, ran barefoot with an assortment of cousins in the summers, and went sliding and skating in the winters. After school and a business college course, she worked for Department of Transportation in Fredericton where she met Rick who was in the armed services. They married in 1958 and were posted to Germany. They eventually moved to Rick’s home area of Mount Forest where they raised their family. Marj worked at various jobs, including care giver in nursing homes and for individuals. Many summers would see the family head “down east” or the “downeasters” head to Mount Forest for the yearly visit. Marjorie loved babies, old country music, and . . . fart jokes. Until the last couple of months, Marj enjoyed living in her own home with her little companion Roxy. She will be so very missed.

Marjorie asked that we express thanks to the staff, nurses and doctors at Louise Marshall Hospital for their kind care.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Marjorie’s life will be held at the Mount Forest Legion, 140 King Street West, Mount Forest on Sunday, June 9th from 1-4 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Cancer Patient Services or the Louise Marshall Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to England Funeral Home, Mount Forest.

Condolences

Marj's family, I had the pleasure in knowing Marj. She was a great neighbour to my late husband Bill and myself for 5 years. We shared many stories and laughter throughout the years. Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers. With deepest sympathy, Anna Raftis (Gammon)
