Richard “Rick” Newton, of Mount Forest and formerly of Kitchener, passed away at Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest on Wednesday, June 27th in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Joyce Nicholls. Loving father of Andrew (Shealene) Newton, Briony Johnson, and Stewart Nicholls. Cherished grandfather of Christian, Julia, Sarah. Ellen, and Emily. Great-grandfather of Blaine Richard. Dear brother of Clifford Newton, John Newton, and Anne (Alan) Walker. Predeceased by his brother David Newton. A funeral service celebrating Richard’s life will be held at the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest on Wednesday, July 4th at 12 p.m., with visitation being held prior to the service from 11 – 11:45 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

So sorry to hear of your loss Joy. We were on vacation the month of July and did not see or hear of the news till we got back. So sorry to hear about Rick's passing. When I worked in the office at Kunkel's I always enjoyed seeing Rick, he was such a sweet guy (when he wasn't all riled up about the coach buses being out and him not being in one - I'm sure you know what I mean Joy). I think he really enjoyed his job and I certainly appreciated his impeccable paperwork and told him so more than once. I will always have fond memories of Rick.
