Condolences
To our dear St. Denis families: We have many great memories of Aunt Jeanette and Uncle Leo.I remember visiting Aunt Jeanette and Uncle Leo while I worked at the busy little Bank of Montreal sub agency in Inwood, Ont.We often visited in their apartment at King's Court in Petrolia and Lambtonian Apartments in Petrolia too. When they lived in Dresden Uncle Leo wanted to go home to Petrolia to live, so Aunt Jeanette wanted to stay in Dresden. When the newspaper headlines on the local corner revealed an interesting picture of Uncle Leo helping the other residents plant their gardens and the gardeners were females, Aunt Jeanette promptly moved to Lambtonian Apartments again to watch over this gardening pro. WE visited then and they were so happy being reunited and sharing their own apartment and residence. I also remember Sophie's(Aunt Jeanette's sister) birthday party and Aunt Jeanette did not want any photos taken of her...she was always worried about her hair not looking coifed. Her hair was always beautifully set and she always looked terrific and very presentable.I remember their 50th in Dresden and how she always loved to dance, polka and fox trot. I remember Uncle Leo having a mini-stroke and the doctor told him to go back in time and play that old fiddle he had for therapy and he did...and he was good...his music was toe tapping for Aunt Jeanette too. I remember visiting their home in Inwood one day and she was frantic because her mats were not dry yet and she wanted her place to look perfect for our visit. Her house was always spotlessly kept and exceptionally clean....always. I have thousands of more memories but there is not enough space to express my thoughts. I will miss her like we miss Uncle Leo. Now they are together and dancing up a storm, I am certain. Uncle Leo may be playing his heavenly fiddle for her right now. They were both angels to our families and I will never forget them.Of course some of you may remember that their son Mattie was our best friend (and cousin) and was Norm's Best man when we were married 45 years ago.I apologize for our not so brave ability to drive to the funeral in such traumatic road conditions. God bless you Irene and families as you grieve the loss of your mother. I too, have lost my mother...my best friend, my confidant, my guardian, my counsellor, her unconditional love and her kindness to others in this season of Christmas. Now Aunt Jeanette and Uncle Leo are living in their special Heavenly mansion where Shirley and Mattie have been waiting for their parents to be reunited and sitting near their Creator. Families are forever...Pat and Norm Triest.
