George Beverley “Bev” Plume

PLUME, George Beverley “Bev” - It is with much sorrow and love our family mourns the passing of Bev on Thursday, June 17, 2021 in his hometown of Mount Forest at the age of 82.

His brave battle with health issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile.  Despite the obstacles, Bev fought strong right to the end.  It is now time for his eternal rest.

Bev is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marion (Denney).  Bev has been a supportive and loving Dad to his son, Don (Dee Dee), daughter Kathy (Bill) Reeves and daughter-in-law, Marie.

Very proud Grandpa to Scott Plume, Dana (Greg) Logan, Brett (Caitlin) Reeves, Kaleb (Bailey) Reeves and Connor Reeves (fiancé Laura Carleton).

Thrilled to be Great Grampa to Ella and Nora Logan, Ava and Will Reeves, Theo Reeves and Hudson Reeves.

Survived by his siblings: Norma (Harry) Copan, John (Marion) Plume, Donna (Raymond) Clark and Bonnie (John) Ross. Also survived by brothers-in-law, Jim Stevenson and Jack Denney and sister-in-law Kate Denney and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Bev was predeceased by his parents, George and Gladys (Carmount) Plume, father-in-law and mother-in-law Harvey and Muriel Denney, sister Ivy Stevenson, brother-in-law Wayne Denney and sister-in-law Trix Denney.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Letterbreen and Plumeville communities, Bev was very proud to call these home.  The ongoing care and support to Bev and our family will always be remembered. 

Also, a huge thank you to Dr. Rowley, Kim, Sharon and Linda for their medical support and care throughout Bev’s declining health.  Thank you to Genesis Comfort PSW Caregivers and the Palliative Care Team who made it possible for Bev to remain at home. 

A private family funeral will be held with interment following at Cochrane Cemetery, Plumeville. We have so many fond memories of growing up in Plumeville and Bev and your family were a big part of it.
As much as we remember Bev enjoying a good time with family and friends, I always think of him as the guy who got things done. Whether it was in the neighbourhood, on site at work, with the township or for the town, a lot of people benefited from Bev Plume getting things done.

My deepest sympathies to you and your families As time goes on and we are getting older I often think about my childhood memories growing up in mount forest hanging out with Twig (Arrnie) and Plume rock (Donnie) and latter on max (tim) wether we were baling hay at Lloyds and Phylises or building a house at bev and Marion's Or doing something on the farms Bev was a big part of my life he always treated me the same as the other guys even though they had a lot more experience then I did I will always remember bev pulling up in his blue and white construction truck that said Harry Bye Costruction and somebody saying Bevs here always willing to help out when it was needed Rip Bev you've earned it

After a life of effort and energy he is finally at rest. Uncle Bev, always involved, in the know, building, creating, designing and planning. His voice though soft always spoke with purpose.
