Mary I. McIntee

McINTEE, Mary I. - Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 16th, 2023. She is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” McIntee. Loving mother to daughters Cynthia Coulis (Brian), and Stacia Khales (Payman). Predeceased by her infant son, Paul (1970). Mary was the first born to Hilda and Wilfred Brick (predeceased) in Cargill Ontario in 1946. Mary is survived by sisters Shirley (Jack), and Susanne, brothers Jim (Sharrie) and Jeff (Heather), and sister-in-law Lenore.  Predeceased by Joseph, John and Derrick Brick, and Paul Zipple. Mary was a devoted wife to Robert McIntee for 57 years.

She was active in the St. Mary’s parish, and the community of Mount Forest for many years. She loved and she cared for many neighbors and friends, and was loved by them all. Mary was an active member of the CWL, Kinettes, Big Sister’s and an ostomy support group. She loved to travel, and she cherished her family time the most. Her pride and joy was making memories with her grandchildren. Known as “Nana” to Wade, Ivy, Eddie and Mia. She will forever be remembered for her generosity of time and attention. We cherish the many photos Nana captured of these special moments.

Visitation will be held at the England Funeral Home, 294 Main Street South, Mount Forest, on Monday, June 19, 2023 from 1:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Purification Roman Catholic Church, 310 Parkside Drive, Mount Forest, on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation at the church from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mount Forest. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Mary, are asked to consider Cancer Patient Services, or St. Mary of the Purification Roman Catholic Church.

My sincere condolences go out to Bob and family.
Mary was a wonderful lady who made me feel so welcome when I moved to Mount Forest. She was like a second grandmother to my two boys who both loved spending time with her. There was lots of teasing because we attended the church across the street! We came together when it came to our belief in our food bank, though. When I decided to join the military there was a wonderful send-off organized at Bob and Mary’s house. I still have the bear they gave me, who we named “Major”.
Mary was a special lady, indeed. I know her presence will be missed by many.

I send my sincere condolences to Bob and his family. Mary made me feel very welcomed to the community about force when I first arrived, inviting me to a dinner at the Mount Forest tavern, and joining me at my home for dinner as well. She used to bring cards and small gifts to me at church on special occasions, and she would leave treats outside my door.
Mary showed friendship right from the start into her great generosity and empathy, she made everyone around her connect and feel part of the community.
She will be greatly missed.
May God bless her and her family, and may we passed forward to all newcomers in Mount Forest with her generous and invitational nature.
God bless you, Mary! God bless Bob and his family!

I send my sincerest condolences to Bob and his family. When I first moved to Mount Forest, Mary and Bob invited me and my cousin to an Easter dinner at the Mount Forest Tavern. Through my cousin, she knew that I was brand new, and Mount Forest and she did everything to make me feel welcomed and part of the community.
I she would bring me cards and gifts at church and leave special treats outside my front door. She called me, offered to ask how I was doing or do you think me for a small token book that I had given her
I feel very fortunate that we were able to get together with my cousin at my home for a dinner in February. I regret.
I regret that we not did not make the barbeque for which had hoped to get together in July; this reminds me how important it is to get together spontaneously, and not make such long future plans.
There is one of the most wonderful, invitational, and empathetic people I know, and I’m so grateful that my cousin introduced me to her and I consider her a friend. She will be greatly missed. I’m glad I saved the cards that she gave me throughout the year.
May God bless Mary and her family. Thank you for making me feel connected. Thank you for sharing your friendship.

Dear Bob, Cynthia & Stacia & family, I am so sorry for your pain at Mary’s passing. As Mary leaves you, it is like a ship that sails away, and you stand watching till Mary fades on the horizon. Someone at your side says, "Mary is gone." Gone where? Gone from your sight, that is all - in truth Mary is just as large as when you saw her last.......the diminished size and total loss of sight is in us, not in her......and just at the moment when she leaves our sight and we say "She is gone" there are others on the other side who are watching her coming , and voices take up a glad shout.......here she comes.....and I know she will be lighting up the arrival with a big grin and the sparkle in her eyes when she celebrates the reunion. Thinking about all of you at this time.

Sending our sincere sympathy. Mary was a very caring person. She will be missed in the community. Rev. Russell & Marilyn Rogers

— Russell and Marilyn, June 19, 2023

I send my sincerest condolences to Bob and his family. When I first moved to Mount Forest, Mary and Bob were the first to invite me and my cousin to an Easter dinner at the Mount Forest Tavern. Through my cousin, Luis, Mary knew that I was a new person in town and she immediately made me feel welcomed and part of the community
I feel very fortunate that I was able to have Mary and Bob over for dinner in February, and Mary had the kindest and most generous of hearts. She would bring me cards and small gifts and leave treats outside my front door.
She had a wonderful empathetic, generous and invitational nature not only for myself, but I think for many people in the community.
I was hoping to have her and Bob over for a barbeque in July, and she reminds me now, how important it is to make spontaneous, micro ambitious plans, rather to plan too far ahead.
I am truly going to miss the friendship she extended to me, and I thank my cousin Luis for introducing me to this wonderful couple – – and especially this wonderful woman. May she rest in peace and God bless her family.
